Good morning everyone, its me again and I know its been a while since I tortured some of you but this is all in a good cause.

We are going to have a fundraising event on Saturday 29th August to raise much needed cash for improvements around the club. One of the main things we will be raising money for is dugouts around the pitches which don't come cheap and hopefully this event will get the ball rolling. Now this is what I need you all to do, one of the events will be Fire Walking which requires 50 people or more to sign up with a registration fee of £30. It will be up to the individual to get sponsorship and if needs be they can take their registration fee out of what they raise buts that's up to the individuals discretion. The registration fee will only be covering the cost of getting the company Firewalking International to come to the club and run the event. I am also looking to all coaches involved with minor and senior teams to get their players involved in this event. The age limit is 14 up and anyone under 18 will need parental consent but I will have those forms when registering. So I hear you all getting excited and saying how do I sign up, well I will be taking names and money on Sunday 28th June from 9.30 - 12.30pm at the club house but if you cant make it just email me.

Now go out there and spread the word and for you Conor Maxwell that should be hard as you are great at selling.

Oh one other thing, on the fundraising evening there will also be pig racing, balloon and ping ball race for the children to take part in, BBQ and much more.

See you all on Sunday 28th.

Girls' football and camogie:

Last Friday, 12 June, 7 Naomh Éanna girls played on the Béal Feirste teams who took on the girls from our capital city.
Fi Morgan, Kiera Mc.Donnell, Caoimhe Finucane, Ailbhe Kane (Captain), Suibhne Gibney and Ellie Murphy played on the football team which won 1-9 to 2-3.
Dearbhaile Mc.Givern played on the camogie team which lost narrowly to the Dubs.
A brilliant day for the Naomh Éanna P7 girls, who represented Gaelsoil Éanna, St.Bernard's, Park Lodge and St.Therese with pride
A mention also for two-time winning football coach, our own Martin Sherlock.

A Cairde
Can you forward to me by Mon 15th June , a list of your current P7 players and which Post Primary school they going to in Sept 2015 . The reason behind this is to provide a list to each of post primary schools of players who are playing for clubs and to encourage the schools to be involved at Year 8 level . Please advise parents that I am forwarding their child's name to a school. Any queries/suggestions get in touch.

name / new school / current school / hurling or football or both / parent contact number

A very big thank you to everyone who attended the pub quiz last Friday night up at the clubhouse. We raised a fantastic £234 for a very good cause.
The craic was brilliant and a massive note of thanks to Paddy Gray for acting as question master and Claire Curran for keeping the scores!!
The standard was very high with some very hard questions especially the GAA round and the general knowledge round.
Congratulations to "Still Thinking" the winners and to all the other teams who took part and also to the Wooden Spoons... ( "Ni Maith Linn Soccer.." you know who you are....Ciaran McCavana!!!!)
It was a great night's craic and hopefully we'll have another one soon!!
Thanks again to everyone who came!!

A Chairde Gaeil,
One of our under 8 footballers left his bag behind him on Wednesday evening after training on the Go Games pitch.
It is a blue bag (George the pig, with a rocket on it), it is urgent that the bag is returned as there is medication in it.
Contact me or Deccy as soon as possible

Naomh Éanna senior football reserves 1.7 Gort na Mona 5.7

Naomh Éanna had a disappointing visit to Gort Na Mona on Sunday, with another changes squad Naomh Éanna were beaten by 4 goals. However, despite the scoreline there were several positives to be taken from the game.
At half time the score was Gort na Mona 2.1 Naomh Éanna 1.3. At the start of the second half Naomh Éanna scored a great goal from Minor player Owen Kinnear but for some unknown reason the referee only awarded a point. This seemed to unsettle Naomh Éanna, and their discipline went. The referee started handing out yellow cards and unfortunately for us we lost 2 players. With 2 additional players Gort na Mona pushed on and won the game with a bit to spare.

Hopefully the injury to Gerard Corrigan is not serious and congratulations to Ciaran Thompson making his debut for the senior reserves.

The team was – Kevin Parkes, Domo Millar, Gerard Corrigan, Ciaran Hughes, Ciaran Thompson, Eoghan O Neill, Stephen McFall (0.3), Brian Flannigan, Stephen Dowds, Cormac Jennings, Mark Mooney, Conor Hughes (0.2), Owen Kinnear (0.1), Chris Doyle, Marty Quinn (1.1), subs Daire Woods, Patsy Dorrian, Pierce McFall.

Naomh Éanna Senior football team 0.6 Gort na Mona 1.11

Sundays match v Gort Na Mona did not have a happy ending. Despite playing relatively well in the first half Naomh Éanna collapsed in the second half and only scored one point. At half time Gort were leading 1.3 to 0.5 and Naomh Éanna had only themselves to blame for being behind, several chances were squandered and with a bit of luck should have been ahead by 3 or 4 points. The 2nd half was totally different. Once Gort got 3 ahead their confidence lifted and they scored points from well out the field. Naomh Éanna struggled all over the pitch, and the few chances they did create they were unable to convert them into scores.

The team was – P Flood, Colm McGowan, Damian Gault, Fintan Eastwood, Conor Maxwell, Kevin Hillen, Philly Curann, Ruairi Scott (0.1), Kristan Healy, James MacAuley (0.2), Donal Walsh, Peter Healy, Conall Scott (0.1), Rian Gillan (0.1), Daniel Kennedy (0.1), subs Eoin McNulty, Mark Owens

A Chairde Gaeil,

We are currently collecting tokens for a promotion being run by Gaelic Life ( "your dedicated weekly GAA newspaper") for a free juvenile training pack.
We need to collect 100 tokens between now and the closing date of 17th July.
So if you or anyone you know (friends, mothers, fathers, aunties, uncles, grannies or grandas ) read Gaelic Life could you please collect the tokens and give them to either myself or Seamus.
Also if you could pass the word to any parents or team members who may be avid readers of the paper too, we would be very grateful. Thanking you in advance.
