Last Saturday as a lot of you will know was the day of the St Énda's charity cycle.

11 cyclists left the club on what was a cold wet morning, they quickly broke into two different groups of Mickey's flyers and Gary's grinders and cycled to Armagh for the first stop. Time to get a bite to eat and change out of wet cycling gear.
Next was the long part of the cycle from Armagh to BallyJamesDuff in Co Cavan.
The weather picked up and thankfully all the cyclists completed the journey without any injuries and only the one puncture so not a bad days cycling .
The cyclists were: Mickey Devlin, Gary Bartlett, Michael McLaughlin, Barry Harper, Scott Lewis, Gerard McEvoy, Peaches, Jim O'Neill (hope you have a speedy recovery),Dara McCoille,Marty Ryan and myself.
A couple of thank you's to people who made the journey safe and got us there and back safely.
Mickey Devlin and Gary Bartlett for planning the route booking the hotel etc.
Kevin Devlin and DeeDee for drining the van and Conor Bartlett for driving the Mini-Bus.
Now to start planning for next year.

Naomh Éanna - Senior Hurlers have two good wins this week.

First up on Monday, the senior reserve hurlers played Lámh Dhearg in the South Antrim Senior hurling League and recorded a win by the minimum. It was a hard fought game and the score from both teams keeping them in the game until the very end.
Next up for the reserves is St Johns on Monday 27th, at Corrigan Park.

The Senior hurlers kept up their fine start to the season with a third straight win. Having accounted for Rasharkin (away) and Shane O’Neills (at home) the lads were keen to overcome a Bredagh team who played Division 2 hurling last year.
There was never much in the game by way of scores, however the free taking of Bredagh definitely kept the south Belfast team in the game. In the last 15 minutes however, the our senior hurlers just dug a little deeper to keep the scoreboard turning over and finished the stronger and with a 3 point winning margin.
Next up is St Teresa’s on the 13th May at Naomh Éanna.

Results from Wednesday 22nd April 2015
7 00 PM, Naomh Éanna 0-20 3-8 Bredagh @ Naomh Éanna | Ref - Eamon Hamill | Round 3

Senior Ladies Div 2 Result: NE 2:9 to 0:3 Ardoyne
The Senior Ladies bounced back from an opening game defeat to a very strong St. Paul's side last weekend with a win in this week's Div 2 league game against Ardoyne. A fantastic team performance from start to finish, with excellent defensive play throughout as well as unstoppable support and attacking play. The girls dominated the game throughout and ran out 2:9 to 0:3 winners. It will be a tough season in Div 2 but good to get the first points on the board.
Scorers - Brónagh Meighan (1:2), Marie McDonald (1:1), Maeve Higgins (0:2), Una O'Neill (0:1), Eilis Crickard (0:1), Jane McNulty (0:1) and Aoife McCullough (0:1).

Naomh Éanna 2.13 Rasharkin 0.05

Our reserve footballers played their first league game of the season on Friday evening against Rasharkin,

With a strong panel to pick from, Naomh Éanna blitzed Rasharkin in the first half and led 1.8 to 0.2 at the break.

With 8 different scorers it was a good performance by the whole team, hopefully we can continue with this form over the coming weeks.

Next Sunday will be our first “double header” of the season with the senior footballers and Reserves both playing Tir Na Og in Randalstown.

The team was – Marty Craig, Ciaran Hughes, Conor Smyth, Eoghan o Neill, Mark Owens, Peter McKillen, Fintan Eastwood, Kevin Hillen (0.1), Sean McCullough, Paddy Coogan (0.2), Robert McIlhone (0.2), Michael Morgan (1.2), Paul Darby (0.2), Mark Mooney (0.2), Tieran Curran (1.0) subs Dermot Monaghan (0.2), Domo Millar, Paddy Dorrian, Chris Losty, Eoin McNulty.

First senior football league match of the 2015 season - Naomh Éanna v Rasharkin

Last night our senior footballers made their return to all county division 2 football after a 3 year exile in division 3. Played on the Paddy Laverty pitch which was in pristine condition, the senior footballers made a nervous start against Rasharkin who were playing in division 2 after their relegation from division 1 last season.
Rasharkin opening the scoring with a close in free after 3 minutes, this was to be the only time they would lead the game. It took Naomh Éanna 7 minutes before they would register their first score with a pointed free from Ruairi Scott. Two minutes later Rian Gillen received a black card for a late challenge on the Rasharkin keeper. This seemed to unsettle Naomh Éanna and they struggled for a period before Kristan Healy scored the next point in the thirteenth minute. Rasharkin drew level with their first point from play but Naomh Éanna hit a purple spell and scored 4 points without reply with scores coming from Ruairi Scott (2), Philly Curran and Sean McCullough. Naomh Éanna were playing well at this stage and could have been much further ahead but for some poor shooting. Rasharkin pulled a point back before the break with another close in free.

After the break Naomh Éanna made one change with Donal Walsh replacing Eoin McNulty. Rasharkin started the 2nd half with the wind behind them and registered the first score of the half after 2 minutes. For the next 10 minutes the match became a game of chess, both teams countered each other out. Then Naomh Éanna hit 1.3 (including a rare point from full back Conor Smyth), without reply and put the game beyond Rasharkin’s reach. Indeed Naomh Éanna really should have worked the scoreboard much more. Several goal opportunities went a begging and quite a few shots dropped short into the keepers arms.

The game petered out as a contest and no further scores were registered in the last 10 minutes.

All in all it was an encouraging start by Naomh Éanna. The team was relatively young, eleven players from last year’s u 21 team including two 18 year olds and six 19 year olds. Next up is an away game v Tir na Og on Sunday 19 April.

The team was – Chris Losty, Fintan Eastwood, Conor Smyth (0.1), Conor Maxwell, Ryan Kennedy, Kevin Hillen, Damian Gault, Philly Curran (0.1), Sean McCullough (0.1), Kristan Healy (0.1), Ruairi Scott (0.4,1f), Eoin McNulty, Peter Healy, Conall Scott, Rian Gillen, subs James MacAuley (1.0), Donal Walsh (0.1), Daniel Kennedy, Paddy Coogan, Tieran Curran.

A Chairde

Naomh Éanna CLG (St Enda's GAC) are delighted to advise that we have been able to secure the exceptional Brassneck Theatre production 'Man in the Moon' for Friday 1st May. Since the play was last at the club in 2013, it has gone on to win International awards on Broadway New York, London, Endinurgh and Brussels. Indeed we are lucky to be the only venue outside the Lyric Theatre and the Roddy McCorley club to present the play this year in Belfast.

There will be musical entertainment after the play as well.

We anticipate tickets to sell out very quickly so please contact me as soon as possible to book your place.

Go raibh maith agaibh
