Senior Ladies Result - NE 2:15 v 0:5 Lamh Dhearg
First challenge game of the season and off to a good start, with a good win against Lamh Dhearg. Some fantastic play, with the girls doing exactly what was asked of them and the things being worked on in training were evident throughout the game. It was a bonus that all 24 girls involved tonight got game time as well.
Scorers - Bronagh Meighan (2:3), Marie McDonald (0:4), Niamh Morgan (1:2), Caoimhe McConnell (0:2), Aoife McCullough (0:1), Maeve Higgins (0:1), Niamh Cochrane (0:1), Lisa Marie Maskey (0:1).

A chara,

We are struggling for coaches/mentors to be involved with U17 football squad who are currently trialling. We would ask you to consider a coach from your club who is currently involved at Minor age group who has Foundation and Level 1 coaching awards and would be ideal candidate for getting involved with Liam McGoldrick who is manager.

Any queries please get in touch.

Report from Michael Scott on last night’s match.

The senior footballers played their first competitive game of the season last night against a very strong Cargin side under flood lights in Toome.
To use the old cliché – “it was a game of two halves”
Naomh Éanna started well and but for some poor shooting could well have been going in slightly ahead at half time, the half time scoreline showed the home team to be in front on a a scoreline of 1.04 to 0.03.
On the commencement of the second period, Cargin introduced 5 current county players (the 2 McCann’s, Crosier, Carron and Scullion) to add to their team which already contained several other county players. The gulf in class really showed, The Toome side rattled off 2.13 to Naomh Éanna 2 points in the second half. The final score was 3.17 to 0.05.

Naomh Éanna team was: –
Ruairi Scott, Fintan Eastwood, Conor Smyth, Ryan Kennedy, Conor Maxwell, Kevin Hillen, Peter Healy, Philly Curran (0.01), Daniel Kennedy, Kristan Healy (0.01), Conall Scott (0.02), James MacAuley (0.01), Damian Gault, Rian Gillan, Paddy Coogan, Michael Morgan, Eoin McNulty, Tiernan Curran.

NAOMH ÉANNA - PEIL NA MBAN

The U14 girls are playing for the top trophy in the Winter League on Saturday at the Waterworks.
From 20 teams, we are in the top 4 and hopeful (confident) of winning.
There is a preliminary game at 3pm (not involving us).
Our game should be at about 3.15.

Other teams have had good support throughout the group matches and I am sure that will increase on Saturday.
It would be great if we could get as many as possible out to cheer the girls on.

We have contacted as many people as possible and encourage everyone to come out an support the Women's football team
