Naomh Éanna v Naomh Gall
The gap since the last game in the league for both teams was over three weeks, it could be said that the game between games allows rest and recovery, but on the other hand upsets the rhythm of the squad and the team, the former applied to Naomh Gall and the latter applied to Naomh Éanna after Sundays Round six match of Antrim’s division two league. Naomh Éanna where on somewhat of a roll, beating Tír na nÓg, Glen Rovers and Naomh Bríd in the previous three matches, with favourites tags going into this match that idea was well and truly dispelled after the final score, back to the drawing board for the Hightown crew and a onwards of Naomh Gall.
With Naomh Gall playing their usual game, the tried and tested formula, the youth of Naomh Éanna struggled at times to keep up with a Naomh Gall team that has a lot of miles in the legs, not alone the score ratio was poles apart but the wides where too!
Naomh Gall registered eighteen wides over the period of the match, with all front six, midfielders and some of the half back line getting forward to contribute.
The first score of the game was registered at seven minutes played, it was a simple score from Naomh Gall (NG 0.01, NÉ 0.00), the immediate response from the visiting side was a converted free from John McGoldrick (NG 0.01, NÉ 0.01). Minutes later Naomh Gall doubled their score to make it (NG 0.02, NÉ 0.01).
It was mid-way in the first half that CJ McGourty wearing No.19 was introduced replacing the injured No.14.
Naomh Gall would punish all match long, as the Naomh Gall free-taker would make it three to one, (NG 0.03, NÉ 0.01), two more frees from McGoldrick standing on the 65m and midfield brought the score to (NG 0.03, NÉ 0.03) all square. Within minutes the home side raced to a three points lead with twenty two minutes played (NG 0.06, NÉ 0.03). Captaen an foireann Naomh Éanna, Cormac Jennings made it six to four from a free (NG 0.06, NÉ 0.04), then with John McGoldrick getting the penultimate Naomh Éanna score of the second half to make it (NG 0.06, NÉ 0.05).
Half time would arrive on the thirty fourth minute mark with Brendan Toland indicating that four minutes would be played, both team would add scores, two for the Milltown side and one for the visiting side (NG 0.08, NÉ 0.06).

The second half began with a bang for the home side, they would hit ten unanswered points, (NG 0.18, NÉ 0.06) twenty five minutes played.
At times, in the first and for the majority of the second, Naomh Éanna looked stunned and off the pace, first touch and hooking a blocking ratios where low too.
Six scores in the first half all from frees, John McGoldrick and Cormac Jennings shared the scores five to one.
One score in the second half from, Philly Curran, who lined out at centre three quarters was the only score from play in the whole match.
A forgettable result for na Fir Éanna, scoring six and conceding two goals and eighteen points, the two goal came from CJ McGourty, who scored two goals in a minute, four minute before the end.
