Skill development in team sports workshop – BOOK NOW

This opportunity is suitable for coaches of all team sport from football to GAA, cricket, netball, rugby, hockey and all other sports led by Scott McNeill from GB hockey…

Scott is currently a Performance Coach Developer working with Great Britain Hockey. Having come from a hockey background and growing up with Mossley HC in Newtownabbey he previously worked for Ulster Hockey delivering talent development and coach development programmes. Post the London 2012 Olympic Games Scott moved to work as the Coaching Manager for England Hockey. Halfway through the Gold Medal winning Rio cycle he was offered the opportunity to be the Performance Coach Developer for GB. Scott works closely with the senior programmes across Scottish Hockey and Hockey Wales and centrally at Bisham Abbey with the England Hockey and GB Hockey programmes.

Utilising experience panning over a decade in sports development from UK and Ireland Scott will deliver a workshop that will cover his experiences and understanding of skill development in team sports. This will provide an insight in how a governing body supports coaches to create rich learning environments and in turn how coaches take this theory and put it into practice in performance sport.

All attendees will receive a video copy of the presentation including slides and it is hoped that the workshop will initiate discussion on how to enhance skills in their own sport looking at best practice which can be transferred across the sports.

Proceeds from this workshop will be donated to Addiction NI – Scott’s chosen charity who he will be representing at the Causeway Half Marathon in September and the mayors charities for the year.

Please forward and share this with anyone who you think would find it of interest.
